In this digital age authenticity of any information is often questionable. The technological advancement has been making it much more difficult to distinguish between the facts and the false as it did before. Especially during the Covid – 19 pandemic the problem of fake news became a severe issue and it even cost many lives.
The very concept of this design comes from the deceiving elements that are used in those kind of fake news around the internet. A very common phrase that is closely associated with the news media itself ‘BREAKING NEWS’ is being used and with the help of different graphic design elements color and opacity, the term ‘FAKING NEWS’ is being highlighted within the same word. The idea was to aware people to not only fall for the sassy visuals or the catchy headlines but to observe and analyze the data or given information before sharing it.
Keeping the contemporary situation in mind where people started to spend most of their time online, the campaign is designed for the digital platform. The digital version may contain a link which will lead the users to a separate page where different ways of identifying fake news will be displayed.
The textual content of the design indicates different negative aspects of fake news which makes it flexible to use it on different static mediums such as bus-stop billboards and newspaper or magazines.
